Ready to Register Your Club?
You’ve found three current LU students to fill the required officer roles of President, Treasurer, and Secretary. That means you’re ready to register your club on LUSU Clubs Den!
Important Reminders
- Clubs cannot be created for class assignments or projects
- Existing clubs also can’t use club resources for class assignments or projects
- If a club with a similar purpose already exists, your registration won’t be approved, so remember to check the existing club list first.
- Students can join multiple clubs.
How to Register Your Club
- Go to clubsden.lusu.ca and Log in using your LU student e-mail and password.
- Click the Organizations tab on the left-hand menu.
- Select Register an Organization (under the search bar).
During Registration
- Follow the instructions carefully on each step
- Invite your officers (and any members if you have them already) using their LU student email addresses
- Complete the Club Constitution document
You can download and fill in the template provided or submit your own version that includes everything outlined in the template.
Once your registration is approved, your officers and any invited members will need to accept their invites. You’ll know it’s done when they show up as officers and members on your club’s page.
Once your application is submitted, the LUSU Clubs team will review it and contact you if there are any issues.
To be approved (ratified), all clubs must meet all the following minimum requirements:
- Cannot be a duplicate club: See Distinctiveness Requirement section
- Have at at least 3 Officers:
- All officers must be current students.
- All officers must agree to be an officer and acknowledge that they agree to LUSU and club rules.
- Official members must be current Lakehead students.
- Minimum membership requirement for your campus:
- Thunder Bay: 10 members (non-funded club) 20 members (funded club)
- Orillia & Barrie: 5 members (non-funded club) 10 members (funded club)
- Club members must be current Lakehead students.
- Members must sign up at clubsden.lusu.ca
- Officers count towards your membership.
- Have a current Club Constitution. A template is provided for you here.
All officially ratified clubs will remain ratified until October 30 in the following academic year. Clubs must be renewed every year.
After You Submit Your Registration
After you submit your application, the LUSU clubs team will review it.
- If everything is in order your application will move to the accepting members stage.
- If anything is missing or needs attention the LUSU Clubs team will contact all officers to resolve the issue.
